I think your thoughts are true. Especially your comments about what is commonly called “entertainment,” but which in reality is depraved according to the Scriptures.

I appreciate Jesus’ words at Matthew 7:21,“Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will.”

He recognized there would be those that falsely claimed to be his followers.But like you said,”our lives have to be reflections of what we say we believe.”

First, on that pastor…if you felt a check in your spirit then I’d trust that. A lot of the guys who speak individual prophecy into people’s lives really don’t have that gift but it’s part of the “pastor” routine. Don’t get down on yourself for that. :)

You’re so right with what you’re saying here. Too often we’ll make excuses to let things or people into our lives that are really bad for our lives. The TV shows that bash Christianity, movies that are driven by sex & violence, the people who post insults and mock others on their blogs. All of them are bad and poison for your life and should be cut out but we find excuses to keep them as part of it.
