How Can You Miss Someone You Barely Talked To?

I’ll keep this very brief, comparatively speaking, and on point.

I’m not going to name names but I do have to say that I am a bit disappointed in some folks.

How is it that folks who would never attempt to communicate with you very much in person, besides informalities such as hello and how’s life, suddenly tell you they miss you because you’re gone?

I don’t understand and I don’t think I ever will.

I’d stick with the “memory of knowing someone” part. Don’t know why it would be thatway though.
