Just wanted to get on here and post a very quick update regarding the horrid storms that have hit our area this morning.
National Weather Service has confirmed two tornadoes that touched down in the Springfield area, the first of which was sighted at 8:03 a.m. by a trained spotter from Main Street in Republic. This is just under a mile from my family’s house.
Personally I saw the sky turn green and caught the tail end of the funnel cloud. It was not a pretty sight.
Jason headed to work at Battlefield Mall and reported that there is some major storm damage to the surrounding area there as well.
We are okay and at last checkup, the house is okay. My appreciation to everyone who has prayed, called and emailed regarding our safety.
