I am a Qwitter, capitalized and spelled incorrectly for a reason.
I signed up for Twitter awhile ago and I thought it would be a cool use of a sort of microblog.
Twitter has made some people go absolutely bananas, posting about the most mundane of daily activities and trying to make them sound interesting.
You just stepped into your office and needed to let me know you crossed the threshold of your door? Thanks for the heads up.
You’re eating tilapia for lunch? Shoot, should have asked me to join.
And oh, no way, you just got off the toilet? TMI.
And to top it off, with half my Facebook friends having signed up for Twitter accounts and cross-posting them into their Facebook status updates, it’s become a little much.
@When you #see people going RT crazy and posting @crazystuff like #this all the time, it really makes you wonder how people come up with the wherewithal to post constantly on something that restricts you to 160 characters or less.
So I am officially a Qwitter. I am saying so long to Twitter right now and concentrating my efforts on my more cogent blog.
#peaceout
You too can be a Qwitter and make your life more resourceful.

Personally, I think Twitter has some extreme advantages, if used the right way. I’ve kind of burn out on posting my own little “I’m at the computer” messages (and burnt out from hearing others), BUT when looked at as a networking tool, it actually is brilliant.
It is super easy to stay updated on the latest of whatever I might be interested in. For example, I follow a couple Christian authors, and pastors and twitter updates on news, etc is the easiest way for me to get info on what I want…without really hunting it down.
The search capabilities are impressive. Interested in wordpress? Just search #wordpress and there are a hundred of people discussing tips, tricks, etc. For me, lately, it’s been the thesis theme (#thesiswp) , or the Sounders (#soundersfc). I love the ability to stay updated on everything associated with those topics.
It’s also great for information passing. Retweets, etc can spread a message faster than any other networking tool out there.
In short, I too am burnt out on the updates to what certain people are doing, but as an information tool, Twitter is the bomb.
Getting up from my chair, crossing the room……………………………I am now away from my computer.
