This Crap Is Worse Than Benny Hinn

This just in: Todd Bentley is a tool.

(If you haven’t heard of this guy, click here.)

Here’s a clip from the Todd Bentley-led “healing outpouring” going on down in Lakeland, FL. You’d think Florida saw enough with the Brownsville revival in the late 90′s. Oh no…here’s this clown Bentley misleading more and more Christians.

I am ashamed to have grown up Pentecostal after seeing stuff like this. I want to vomit.

Worst part of the whole video: “We’re gonna laugh the hell out of people.” I’m sure God is smiling at that one.

The A-Team had better acting than what was exhibited in this clip. Stumbling around “drunk” in the Spirit. Just awesome. :(

Funny thing, because every encounter I read of people being anointed by the Holy Spirit in the Bible were empowered, not weakened and reduced to laughingstocks on a podium. Our God is a God of order, not the author of confusion. My Bible also tells me that he has given us all a sound mind.

It reaches its peak around the 8:55 mark with the dude running around with a MacBook Pro and apparently collapsing on stage. Listen to Bentley: “What was that??? That was amazing!” Uh, how about giving some glory to God? Oh that’s right, this crap isn’t from Him so best not to give Him credit for it. Instead, Bentley touches people on the head Benny-style and gives his best Emeril: “BAM!!!”

Shame on Todd Bentley and his cronies. I wish the whole of them, Kenneth Copeland, the Hagins, Benny Hinn, Kerney Thomas and all of them would just disappear and receive their just judgment.

Yeah, I’m pissed. Can you tell?

Where is God in all this? Where is the salvation message? Where is talk of the cross? WHERE IS GLORY BEING GIVEN TO GOD???

Well I am going to make a comment without having watched the video. You obviously have very strong opinions about the subject at hand. However I personally am not ashamed of being filled with the Spirit nor of the gifts or fruit that mark me as such. I’m sure you know that on the day of Pentecost many people acted in such a way that others wondered if they were drunk. Yes the Spirit is not the author of confusion, but who decides what confusion truly is, us or Him? As with all things God is the judge and He does so to His standard and measurements not to our limited understanding.
Yes, I have both seen and heard of things that are contrary to scripture, but this does not make me want to call judgement and fire down on their heads. It is a grave thing to fall into the hands of God, so to pray for each individual to receive mercy and a true heart which seeks after God is more needed then judgement. I know there are deceivers, and those who prey on people’s emotions to attain the almighty dollar, but still mercy is always better then judgement. Again pray for them, condemn the sin they do, but pray for their souls.

That’s a great response, Sybil. It breaks my heart to see Christians attack a brother… it’s happening all over the internet. It’s usually over style while overlooking the undeniable substance (radical salvations, healings, etc.)

I have witnessed some of the most amazing testimonies coming out of this outpouring in Lakeland. Dramatic… I mean DRAMATIC… healings.

When God moves, we can’t assume it to look any certain way. He’ll move outside the box continually. Check out how Heidi Baker ministers… man, she can’t even stand up as she preaches at times!

I talk about this quite a bit on my blog at http://www.revolutionexperience.com.
    Peace!

Of course there are dramatic healings happening in Lakeland. Let’s talk to those people a few months down the road when they’re back in the hospital and their wallets are empty because they followed signs and wonders instead of the very GOD who they should have relied on to heal them.

Yes, God does move outside the box but not so far outside it that He will use someone who blasphemes His word (see my demonic possession article).

You know, if we were busy enough doing the things Jesus told us to do in the first place on a continual basis, there would be no need for “outpourings” like this.

All this stuff is, is hype, hype, HYPE.

Where is the Gospel of Jesus’ salvation related to the crowd? Where is God given glory?
