Major Announcement – I Have A New Job

Written by Chris

Topics: Movement In Still Life

Today i put in my two weeks’ notice at AT&T. I have been given the best opportunity since I separated from the Air Force, and the hand of the Lord is definitely at work in this.

As of May 5, I will be a Multimedia Reporter and staff videographer for the Springfield News-Leader here in Springfield, Missouri.

My series of interviews went very well last week and I am so thankful to the good people at the N-L who paved the way for me to get this job.

There are so many people who have been praying for me through the hiring process, and I can’t thank any of you enough. As a token of my gratitude and a nod to my “fan base,” I will be wearing argyle socks to work every day. Something a little quirky to remind me of those who have been pulling for me.

As I stated before, I begin the new gig May 5, and I cannot wait. I have some great story ideas and some really innovative ideas for some other media adventures as well.

It’s going to be a fun ride.

Working there sucks… they will suck the life out of you… i promise. And get ready to do everyone else’s jobs.

  2. Sybil says:

Wow, the above comment doesn’t make it sound too promising, but you know what Bud your dad and I are agreeing with you that this is an answer to prayer. The Lord has all things worked out already, and it could just be another stepping stone to a larger pond with bigger fish to fry. Okay, now I am sounding my age, I’m just saying that it can be a great blessing.

    AJ–

Come on, dont crash my party here. I interviewed with some fine folks and everyone I met at the N-L was great. I look forward to working with everyone there, forging some great relationships and making my time there a wonderful experience. I am excited and I am ready to take on all challenges with a full head of steam.

    Mom–

This job is definitely an answer to prayer. I believe I am being brought there to be a blessing to others and be blessed by others as well.

This is an excellent opportunity for me to really get involved in the Springfield community and I am more than ready for it.

Congrats man. I know how much you were looking forward to the day God blessed you with another opportunity like this. It’s an honor to be able to be your friend and watch God working and blessing your life.

  5. Jason B. says:

Hey man, be a good influence on those around and have FUN at work! I know you know how to….

And whoever you are AJ, learn when to speak and when to be silent. If you have something to say, put it more politely or don’t talk at all please.

    Chris,

Congratulations on the job. Regardless of what anyone says good or bad, it will be whatever you allow it to be. I went to work at a large company where two friends of mine had just left under bad terms. They talked “all this and all that” bad about the company and told me I would hate it. Turns out, it was the best place I have ever worked. Found out later it was their lousy attitude and work ethic they caused them to have to move on. I found great success and favor there.

“Store My commands in your heart. If you do this, you will live many years, and your life will be satisfying. Never let loyalty and kindness leave you. Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. Then you will find FAVOR with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation.” – Prov 3:1-4

Congratulations too on the TL. Look forward to seeing it.

AJ, dude, I guess I’m glad we’re not friends. Proverbs 25:11 came to my mind after I read your comment.
