It’s Too Beautiful Outside…

…to have to go to work today.

Seriously. My iPhone is telling me it’s already a balmy 54 degrees outside, expected to get into the higher 60s by the end of the day.

This is the day I wish I could find a disc golf course here in Springfield, play a couple rounds to familiarize myself with the lay of the land, and just veg out all day. But nooooo, instead my job requires that this be the longest workday of my week and I have won a round-trip to Bolivar and back. Oh well, at least the weather is good enough to enjoy the drive.

Now watch me post Monday when we are supposed to get snow. :)

Nothing too terribly exciting to report save for the fact that a little later on tonight, I will be tuned into the Internet broadcast of the Rainier girls basketball team trying to run the table on the entire season as they take on Myrtle Point in the 2008 Oregon 3A championship game. Rainier hasn’t won a championship in anything since Jesus and Brian both walked the earth so the entire town of 1,700 is pulling for the Lady Columbians to finish the job.

By the way, here’s a panorama of my old town. I spent 17 years there (1985-2002). Ain’t it purdy?

Now that you’re done reading this, get out and enjoy the sunshine, Ozarkers.

  1. Behind the Oak Grove Center, which is located on Oak Grove between Sunshine and Bennett, is a frisbee golf course. Heading east on Sunshine, Oak Grove is the first road south after the railroad tracks by McDonald’s.
