Gabe Triplett Is Missing - Updated 3/7
Sad news from my hometown today. Apparently this happened days ago but I wasn’t notified of it until today.
From the Longview, Washington Daily News:
A Rainier-area man has been missing for a week and his family is asking for the public’s help to find him.
Gabriel Triplett, 23, is 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-8 and about 160 pounds, said his mother, Alice Triplett, who lives in the Goble area near Rainier. He has blue eyes, his hair is dark brown and he may have facial hair because his beard grows quickly, she said.
…
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office has searched in all the places he has gone in the past, such as Goble Falls, she said.
Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Gabe Triplett can call the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office at (503) 366-4611.
KATU also has a video report on the disappearance.
I remember Gabe and Lola from my days at Rainier High School (’98-’02). Gabe was a monster on our football team and he was a great guy to hang around. We weren’t friends per se, but we hung around enough to share a few laughs and good conversations.
Both Gabe and his sister were involved in a terrible car accident in 2003 that killed her and left him with brain damage. Suffice it to say the guy has overcome a lot, and I am saddened by the news that he has disappeared without a trace over the last few days.
My prayer is that he is found soon, alive and well. I hope you all join in that prayer also.
UPDATE 3/7 - Still no sign of Gabe but there is a report that a witness saw him in Longview (across the Columbia River) yesterday. Grant Bergerson and Cody Marston, two of my high school friends, were shown on a KGW story on the search for Gabe today.

Hi Chris. I went to school with the two of you also. used to be RIki Thompson.
I’ve been reading the articles about his disappearance and things arent adding up. It INFURIATES me that people are seeing him and not taking him to safety!
Please keep me updated. I’m worried, scared, disappointed, and just plain ANGRY with the entire situation.
Thank you so much for doing your part and keeping up on this. You are great.

Riki–
I remember you! Hope you’re doing well out there. How is life treating you now?
Things definitely aren’t adding up, at least from what we are being told by the media and possibly his family. I wonder why his disappearance wasn’t reported to the Sheriff’s department until two days after it happened. I also wonder why those that have spotted him haven’t reported it until it was too late or failed to do something altogether.
If he has been spotted in Longview more than once, according to reports — in a city of over 30,000 people you’d think someone would speak up.
I just hope all is well with him and he comes home safe.

Yes things in my life are great. I live in st. helens with my husband (obviously the name change) and we have our dog cat and house.. and we are happy. I’m glad to catch up with you. How is life treating YOU?
I’ve been wondering the same things myself about gabe and his family. If i hear anything else i will let you know, but seems to me nothing else has turned up, and not many people are trying to help.

A man’s body was found April 12 in Goble Creek near the falls. The Oregon Medical Examiner hopes to make an identification by Tuesday using dental records. The sheriff’s office said it is a white man possibly in his 20s to 30s.
