Shout Out To My Alma Mater

Even though I graduated there five years ago, I still keep tabs on what happens at my alma mater, Rainier High School in Rainier, Oregon — student body population 350 or so, give or take (probably take) about 25 to 50.
Tonight, Rainier football fans have reason to be proud. They beat Clatskanie, their Highway 30 rival and probably their toughest league matchup of the season, 30-22 tonight. They pulled it off without the services of running back Austin McGlone, whom I read suffered some sort of shoulder injury or something like that.
Great job guys, and way to make someone who suffered through those infamous years of Rainier football ineptitude proud.

I went to Men’s Breakfast with Tim Teal in Clatskanie this morning, and several of the men were still talking about the defeat and contrasting it to games from the last two years.

I take it you went to Hump’s restaurant? I knew the owner of that place personally from the times he would stop into the Washington Square Apple Store and inquire about our latest products.
Hump’s is a great place, I finally ate there earlier this year and I’d recommend it to anyone stopping by on their way to the Oregon coast — or back to Portland from the coast.

Actually, we went to The Berry Patch as we normally did in years past, but when we got there, we discovered that it was actually at the church (across the street).

The Berry Patch, that is on the way to beach. Memories, I need to go with Susie when I get there in Feb.

Berry Patch = even better than Hump’s. Which also means you made your way a few miles west of Clatskanie. 20 more miles and you’d have hit water!
