Lofty Goals For 2008

So I have a couple lofty goals for 2008 that I know I never could achieve in Oregon, but can achieve here in Missouri due to a number of reasons.

The number one goal is to become the owner of a small house in the Springfield area by late next year. Whether it be in Springfield, Nixa, Ozark, Republic, Strafford — anywhere in the local area works as long as I can have a basement that I can turn into a video and audio editing suite.

Which brings me to my next goal, and that is to start my own freelance video company. Ideally I would shoot, edit and master DVDs and other media for clients wanting a cost-effective yet professional product. I think I could build up a good list of clients and make it a good secondary job.

I never told many people that before, but if I don’t have something like that to aim for, what am I going to do with myself? I know I’d have to throw a ton of money into the house and studio but I’d reap the financial benefits later.

I look forward to my future here and I’m here to stay for a long time. I’m tired of moving around — 6 times in four years is enough for me.

  1. Question please:
Where are the Dufrain’s? How can we eat @ a time like this? Search party for the Dufrain’s!

  2. This is a comedian that will be missed big time!
He did not even reach his prime potential.

Exciting! You forgot to mention still photography. (Or perhaps you did that on purpose because you know that many high end customers frown on the jacks-of-all-trades… you’ll need a separate business name for your still photography).

And why wait for a house? Commandeer some portion of the garage and build your studio now. :) The first order of business will be a new video camera and some audio equipment.

Hey Daniel, now don’t be giving him any ideas about using my small garage for his studio, I need it for my car!

Yeah, that garage isn’t big enough to even get out of the car when it’s in there, much less have a studio in it!

Hey, as far as the whole goal of yours goes, there’s no reason why you can’t!
