In The Midst Of Everything Good…

…there’s still some things that I have a tough time dealing with.

The major thing for me right now is that I’ve been here a month and I only have a couple friends.

Yes, I have great working relationships with everyone at church, but I only have a couple people at my own age level I can really hang out and spend time with. And that doesn’t even happen too often.

I’m not crying, I’m not complaining, but it’s really tough when you’re expected to enlarge your social circle without any help from the friends you do have.

I know I’m supposed to be here in Springfield but my life is rather monotonous and boring at this point. God’s done great things for me, but it would be cool to have some people to share that with.

Suddenly I know exactly what Jason must have felt like during the majority of his time here.

Give yourself some time to adjust, and friends will come. Remember it takes awhile to connect with people, a lasting connection is what you need. God brought friends to me through our church, some of whom are so very dear to me. I met new people at work and I must say I enjoy their friendship too. So give yourself time to adjust, go to new places, even visit some other youth activities sponsered by other churches. Ask the Lord to place people in your path that need a friend, who knows you may be the answer to their prayer as well.

  2. By youth I take it you mean “young adult.”

I may be taking a trip to Six Flags Over Jesus (aka James River Assembly) to check out what kind of young adult program they have going on. Might give us an idea at CH, of something to build on.

Well yes I did mean young adult. I was just thinking that others churches often have cell groups, or activities that all are free to come to, just to meet other people and connect.

Is Sybil in one room and Chris in the other having a conversation online?? :o)
Chris we know exactly how you feel. It is difficult starting over, especialy when you left a place that you had so many close friends. But yet, I think that it helps us to grow in many different ways when one we only have God and two when we have to put ourselfs out there to make friends. It’s not easy. But we understand your feelings!
