Pastor Dave Cabales Has Passed Away

I received word ten minutes ago that Dave Cabales passed away at 11:05 Wednesday night, August 22, 2007.

Please pray for the Cabales family, as I’m sure you all have over the past few days. Pray for peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Dave has now had the ultimate healing, as he has gone home to be with the Lord. I’m sure going to miss hearing him play his trumpet at State Convention, and watching him illustrate his sermons on canvas as he preached them, bringing them to life.

Man, this is difficult news to take.

Update: A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, September 1 at 2:30 pm at Westminster Chapel, 13646 NE 24th St, Bellevue, WA 98005. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the building project of Kirkland Family Church, 10489 NE 52nd St, Kirkland, WA 98033.

I’m thankful for all of the laughter that came from Dave, and the joy he brought about in others. He told those goofy corny jokes and would laugh himself silly at them, even if no-one else would!! I will miss the way his eyes lit up when he held his grandchildren. To me, Dave and Kaye are family! He will missed dearly.

Thanks Chris for being so faithful about keeping everyone informed about Brother Dave.

There will be just a little less laughter in this world now that with his passing, but I’m happy his suffering has ended. I will be praying for comfort for the Cabales family while they deal with this loss and adjust to continuing their lives without him here.

    God Bless,

Chris ~ thanks for the update. There just aren’t words to describe a man like Dave Cabales. He truly was one of the most wonderful people I ever have had the privilege to know. I am sure there is rejoicing in heaven and the Jesus Band just gained an awesome new horn player! I will continue to pray for the Cabales family during this new season in their lives.

  5. I will never forget two things in specific:

Years ago in Junior Camp 1994, Dave was the camp evangelist…not only did he preach and illustrate his sermon, but he gave each and every camper a hand drawn picture of Mickey Mouse looking into a Bible, and a bookmark flowing out of it that said the campers’ name. I think I still have that around somewhere.

At Senior Camp 2002, he personally prayed for me before I left to go into the military. The Spirit moved through him so strong and I will never forget the effect that prayer had on me…it was prayers like his that kept me safe during my time in Iraq.

Our loss is definitely heaven’s gain.

We are so sorry to hear of Brother Dave Cabales passing. It is never easy to say goodbye to our loved ones here but it is wonderful to know they will be waiting for us when we too reach that golden shore. Our prayers go out to all of the Cabales family in their loss.
