We all know what Easter is all about, so everyone enjoy your candy and easter treats and family dinners. The Easter Bunny has come to visit for a day, so let’s all welcome him.
Actually it’s the second holiest of holidays, next to Christ’s birth of course…his RE-birth, you could say. That’s right, Jesus rose again on the third day of his death and he still lives forever in heaven and in our hearts. How awesome is that. Most other gods that people worship on this earth is either dead or inanimate, so that automatically makes Jesus better. He pushed away a few hundred-pound rock like it was nothing, walked out of his tomb and set about showing everyone he was and is alive.
So let’s shout it out today, JESUS IS ALIVE.
On another note, Aftan and I had a fun trip to the beach yesterday. It rained half the time we were there, but we took some great photos. I think some of the best nature photos I have ever taken reside in this album. I am considering selling prints of them to anyone who would like them framed. They would make some nice gifts too.
Off to bed and early to rise…not super early like Jesus did though. The Roman soldiers slept while Jesus walked right past them, so I’m going to follow their example, skip the sunrise service tomorrow and go to the 10 AM one at Aftan’s church.
Cheers!

Today the mercury reached a record high 81 degrees here in Hillsboro. I took advantage and went outside to go shoot hoops at Glencoe Creek Park. The weather’s gonna stay the same tomorrow so Aftan and I are heading to the beach. We’ll take tons of photos. I’ll post them when we return tomorrow night.
Be prepared for a really cool video section of this website, coming soon. It’s gonna be great.

In the blog title, I was talking about three things:
1. Good Friday to you all.
2. It is a very Good Friday for me today.
3. On Good Friday, Jesus was crucified, crushing the hopes of hapless Christ-followers all over the globe, including His disciples. (If only they would have listened when he said he would rise again in three days.)
Touching on Point #3 above, yes, today is indeed the day we as Christians observe the physical death of our Lord and Savior…and it is that event that made him our Savior, as He bore all the sins of the world while dying an inhumane and horrible death.
Like I said above, Jesus had told His disciples basically not to give up hope, that he was going to die and rise again. So what do the disciples do when he gives up the ghost? They all go and hide. What a bunch of frooks.
Seriously. The most powerful man in the world, God in human form, and the very person who had taken ordinary men and helped make the disciples twelve of the most influential and powerful people in the New Testament, promises them He will rise again…and they forget every word he says. Peter even went so far as to curse and swear at people who told him they had seen him with Christ. Nice job buddy.
I think we all could learn a lesson from this. The same Jesus that lived physically among the disciples, walked and talked with them, and taught them everything spiritual, lives spiritually in each of us that have received Him as our savior. But many of us run and hide from our faith and yes, while we don’t do it physically, we curse and swear at our fellow Christians and non-Christians by not living as Christ would.
Today let’s all be reminded of how wonderful Jesus is to us everyday, and especially today let us remember the great sacrifice He gave by dying on the cross to save us of our sins. When we truly stop and think about how He suffered and died, and how he rose to sit at the right hand of God his Father, we can’t help but want to live our faith to the fullest.

Thanks for all of your prayers this week. I’m training with the Good Day Oregon crew here at KPTV and that means I show face at the station at 2:30 AM. For a guy who’s accustomed to staying up until 2:30 AM then going to sleep…let’s just say my body hasn’t taken too well to the change.
The shift is cool…it’s more relaxed and the people are really nice, and it’s cool to just be able to see the sunrise out the window, see how the traffic changes from 2:30 to 8:30, and end my workday when most people are starting theirs. I wish this was permanent but at the same time most of my friends will be getting off work when I’m resting.
When I get home all I do is try to sleep…I really have a tough time adjusting because my mind telling me it should be awake and it’s daytime, and my body is doing everything it can to fall asleep. It’s really tough and even sleeping pills don’t help much. I’m sure my sleep predicament will get better soon.
On another note, I’m really looking forward to Youth Convention up in Kirkland in a week or so. I’ll be riding in the church van with friends from New Horizons and hopefully be able to see many more of my friends from across Washington state I haven’t seen in a few years. Holler if you’re going to YC.
Anyhew, I’m outta here. God bless and continue to pray for me, as I pray for all of you in turn!

Nice April Fools’ joke we played on the general public, Aftan and I pulling a fast one and telling everyone we had broken up. Thanks to Cris Birch for helping me out with the joke at New Horizons Church. Funny, funny results. We all got a good laugh out of it, and it was pretty reassuring to hear some people say they didn’t believe me because I always talk about how wonderful Aftan is.
If you’ve seen our MySpace pages over the past day or so, we took off any reference to each other and I actually received a couple phone calls about that. Didn’t know people monitored MySpace so intensely…kinda creepy, like someone was actually waiting for me to become available again.
So yeah…the hoax is over and we’re pulling the wool off of everyone’s eyes. Aftan and I are still together and stronger than ever. THAT you can believe.
As a segue into the United Airlines portion of this post….
