I’m Still Alive, Right?
Three whole days have come and gone and I have had nary a chance to update my blog. For that I apologize. I actually have a job now and it’s a good one at that.
Speaking of the job, it’s going along very nicely. This week they’ve had me “shadow” some photogs and reporters going out and shooting stories. Monday’s travels included a story on how people in Salem are dealing with graffiti, Tuesday involved a teen that killed himself and his parents were suing the Yamhill-Carlton School District, and today was a convenience store that was robbed by two teens toting…airsoft guns. Wow.
I’m learning a lot of new ways to do things, and it seems things at KPTV are more streamlined and easier to deal with than military broadcasting. Then again it has to be because this is commercial TV news, and it deals with stories that scream for immediate coverage. I think I’ll really end up liking my job. (And poor Brian Taylor asks me how it feels to not have a soul now.)
As for other things, I can’t stop raving about how great the retreat was. Not only was it great for the campers, but great for me as well. God taught me how to be more patient and tolerant in the ministry, and he really used me and all the other group leaders to really reach out and share the word of the Lord with each of the kids on a personal level that they were all able to understand. Kudos to Shelly and the rest of the staff for a great retreat.
Aftan comes home tomorrow but I really don’t get to spend too much time with her until Saturday because of my work schedule. Nevertheless it’s great to have her here.
Marriage is a big issue that’s been weighing on my mind lately. Even moreso now that I’ve been talking with some people at work about how Aftan and I plan on being married in a couple years or so (they asked if I had a girlfriend, I told them yes and we planned on getting married). Just even while discussing the topic of marriage with others, I feel tremendous pressure for some reason. When to propose. How to propose. What type of ring to get. Where should the honeymoon be. Shoot, Aftan hasn’t even met my parents in person yet.
Oh well, the Lord has perfect timing and since I truly believe He brought Aftan and I together, He will help me work out some of these major details.
Time for me to rack out for the night. Big day at work tomorrow. I get to learn how to operate live satellite trucks.
God bless.

Shoot we haven’t been able to meet Aftan either! Something needs to be done to rectify this, and pronto. I know, why don’t you two come out for a visit!(hint, hint!) Now why didn’t I think of that earlier!
We bought some new furniture and it was delivered yesterday. Italian leather love seat and sofa, in a great cream/beige color. It is beautiful, and a new dining table and chairs will be delivered in a few weeks. So we actually have a place for you both to sit when you come.
Just don’t come the first week of April, Susie Bear is coming out for a visit, and we are going to Branson baby!

Okay two things of insignificance, but on my mind just the same. First, Nacho Libre is hilarious! Seriously funny. You have to watch it.
Second, I made bread today for the first time since we moved here to Missouri and it really made me miss you.
And on another note, I want you to put up a chat box again, so we can all visit, I love reading random thoughts from everyone.
Love ya, Mom

Sorry Mom, no shoutbox. It introduced my last site to mass amounts of spam emails that my Firestorm email account is having a hard time dealing with and may never recover from.
Love you.
