I don’t know what relevance this has to anything, or even if it’s remotely interesting reading, but I thought I’d share it anyway. :)
Aftan is an animal lover to the core. The house could be overrun with animals of all different sorts and she would be in heaven. Myself, not so much. One pet would be okay, but if we had two or more I think I would go insane. We’re different in that aspect, and that’s not a bad thing. We just have different preferences.
That being said, we’ve been talking about what kind of pets we want when we get married. I told her I would like a dog, preferably a boxer or beagle, and that’s it…and I’d probably name it Scooter. She wants a miniature dog of some sort (read: something that will probably be unintentionally stepped on by me in the future) and wants to name it Tacori (after an expensive type of diamond ring she lusts after — hey, let the girl dream). She also says once we have kids and they grow up a bit, get a couple guinea pigs and have maybe a couple doves.
As mentioned before, I’m not much of an animal lover, so the prospect of a few animals making a house that I will be living in their stomping grounds too, does not sit well with me. Maybe I just don’t like the idea initially, and hopefully if pets get phased in — such as, we have one pet, now we’re used to that, let’s get two, and so on and so on — I’d be okay.
Ah, the things young wishful couples talk about while pondering their future.
Oh well. Onto more interesting things.
I guess I forgot to share what I got my family for Christmas. I bought my mom some Victoria’s Secret Pink perfume, got my brother Call of Duty 3 for his XBOX 360, and went in with my family to buy Dad a 32″ HDTV…that my brother has been playing his XBOX on non-stop, I’m sure. I’m glad I was able to get my family what they wanted this Christmas, and it really helps make being away from them over the holiday not nearly as bad as it could have been.
I’m outta here for now. Gotta wash this onion smell out of my hands…we had tacos last night and after repeated hand washing and a shower, the smell still hasn’t come out. Ewwwww.

Bring on my argument on this one…
Chris knew before we got together that I was an animal lover…Im an animal science major even :) So, it should be no surprise that I want to have pets.
I want a dog that I can have in the house instead of locking it outside all the time so I am firm on having a small to midsize dog. Christopher takes this to mean I want a little ankle biter who I would punt around just as much as he would. Stupid lil runts anyway. But yes. Something that can still be managed in the house without wrecking it.
As for doves I will want those asap as I LOVE them (animals science chicken major…nuff said.) I have always wanted a pair sitting OUTSIDE on a patio. The coo is so relaxing to me. There is no way I would ever have birds, snakes, lizards, or other grossness ever in my house though.
I had mentioned once that when the kids get older I would consider with Christopher the idea of a cavy (guinea pig to the rest of the world) as it teaches responsibility and every kid should have a pet all their own if they are mature enough. But, that depends and is up to discussion when the time comes.
In my defense as well I have always wanted a cat in my house and have given up that idea becuase of Christopher’s “allergies”…read…he HATES cats :)
So yes, Im a pet lover and I am a Christopher lover. There is a happy middle in there somewhere….two(ish) dogs not five like my parents are stupid enough to have and nothing other than that in the house. So, Christopher my love….humph! hahahaha
No cats indeed. I used to shoot feral cats and am proud of it.
