Some Images From My Roadtrip To Oregon

My family’s house in Republic, Missouri. Not too big, not too small…but it’s just right for what they need. And they have a garage too!

The city of Republic, Missouri, just seven miles southwest of Springfield. It’s a nice little town, and has a Wal-Mart, a few gas stations, banks…and it even has a community rec center and pool.

A nice house just a few miles from Republic, I think right off of State Highway ZZ.

The sun setting over Nebraska as I drove west on Interstate 80. I’m pretty sure that if I took my hands off the steering wheel and set the cruise control, I could have gone to sleep for an hour and still been in the right lane.

This is the entire town of Buford, Wyoming. The sign says two people live here, but the folks that run Buford’s gas station said only one person lives there now.

Just west of Laramie, Wyoming on I-80. Whoever said America is overcrowded was snorting mass quantities of cocaine.

Half a manufactured home decided to take a nap on the side of the freeway. By all indications, it’s OK, though.

Some interesting rock formations about a hundred miles from the Wyoming-Utah state line. At least it made the drive more interesting…it was noon and I wanted to fall asleep at that point.

Snow!!! After a little climb through the city of Evanston, Wyoming, I crossed I-80 into Utah and enjoyed the sight of a little bit of snow on the side of the freeway.

One of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve seen. I took this photo just a little east of the Utah-Idaho border.

I had to stop in Baker City, Oregon to get some gas and ended up driving through town. Pretty neat little downtown area.

Really blurry photo, but it started snowing to beat the band just west of La Grande, Oregon. Even slight changes in elevation were the difference in seeing a ton of snow on the side of the road or none at all.

The weather improved for a time just past Pendleton, Oregon. At this point, I was only four hours away from my final destination. Notice the rainbow leading me home.

My entire photoset from the trip is available in my Multimedia section. Check it out.
