Greetings.

The next couple months for me are action-packed. Just to name a few of the things I will be attending, I’m going to see Talladega Nights tonight with some friends from Lakeside Church, Steely Dan and Michael McDonald in Virginia Beach on the 15th, and a host of other events, such as Audio Adrenaline’s stop in Norfolk on their farewell tour in October. I figure if I have a couple months left here, I might as well live it up and make something of it. What a great way to do so.

Today’s been interesting at work. They’re reorganizing the Public Affairs section here, which means half the broadcasters here have moved next door. All of them except me will be gone within the next few weeks. The reason I’m staying is because I’ve been assigned to the yet-to-be-formed “Team 3,” but an even bigger reason is that I’m separating soon and there’s no reason to really bother me too terribly much over my remaining fifty-some-odd days of work. On top of that, I got a new supervisor. As John Stevens would say, “Real cool, brother man.”

Went to church yesterday and also went to Red Robin afterward. I think we set a record for an unofficial Lakeside gathering of the people, with nineteen of us crowding into the largest booth they could find. Our waitresses handled the stress well and we tipped them generously. Also a good opportunity to witness…our server asked us what church we came from since we were all so dressed up, and we told her about Lakeside. That got her to inquiring about Lakeside and we talked back and forth. Again, “real cool, brother man.”

It was really nice to see a fellow Air Force junior enlisted member at church yesterday, along with his wife who had been coming for a couple weeks. REALLY nice people and they are a big blessing to us.

Anyway, I have to go mail off Afty’s birthday present. Afty you should get your Furby within 3-5 business days. Love you!

And I love the rest of you too, just not as much as her.
