Glory, glory, glory. I have had four hours of sleep over the span of two days. Crazy, but I would gladly sacrifice my sleep any day for a SEAHAWKS PLAYOFF VICTORY!!! That’s right boys and girls, we beat Carolina last night 34-14 (and it really wasn’t even that close).

My roommate and I woke up at about 2:30 AM and turned to AFN Sports, where in the humble confines of our hooch, we were tuned in LIVE to the biggest game in Seahawks history. As Joe Buck and Troy Aikman raved about how loud the Qwest Field crowd was, our nervous anticipation turned to excitement when Jerramy Stevens caught a TD pass from Matt Hasselbeck…right after Hasselbeck completed a huge pass to Seneca Wallace. Yes, that would be Seneca Wallace, the Seahawks backup quarterback. Wow, the crowd was pumped. 7-0, Seahawks.
And they didn’t look back, praise the Lord. Lofa Tatupu picked off a Jake Delhomme pass intended for Steve Smith — I don’t think Delhomme even saw Tatupu downfield at all. Lofa brought the ball upfield and a COGOP Man field goal later, it was 10-0. We were on our way.

After roughing up Jake Delhomme for two sacks and three interceptions, and holding Steve Smith to a measly three catches for (I think) only twentysomething yards, the Seahawks rendered Carolina’s offense (which as you saw, was pretty much only Delhomme and Smith) inept. Man, they whooped it on ‘em. It was beautiful.

God bless Michael Boulware and the rest of the Seattle defense. Hallelujah. We are on our way to the Super Bowl. This is great…it totally takes away the sting of the 2000 Game 7 loss that my then-beloved Portland Trail Blazers suffered at the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers. Plus, it means my Uncle Johnny owes me a dinner at Lambert’s Cafe in Ozark, MO. Hallelujah again!!!
Anyway, that’s it for today…I’m tired so I am going home and going to bed. God bless!!!
