It’s Been Awhile…
…since I have decided to write anything about myself at length. I figure now is a good time to do so, since I am home from work with the worst headache I have suffered in years. My stomach pains have subsided, but my head feels like someone is hitting it with a hammer constantly. I don’t know what caused it, but dear God I feel horrible.
Ok, here’s what has happened over the last few days.
A friend I knew from high school — Aftan — found me on Myspace. She isn’t the first to find me like that, but since I remembered her more than most other people who found me using that thing, I’ve been communicating with her back and forth. Now we talk to each other frequently, and she always has some sort of cool advice to give when I tell her about stuff going on in life. Who would have thought that someone I hadn’t talked to in three years could tell me some of the best stuff I needed to hear? What an encouragement.
On another note, I have received the official papers telling me I am going to Iraq. I am now in the process of getting everything done in order to leave, which I will be doing November 1. The sheet says I will be gone for 179 days, so expect me back in early May. Here’s a new perspective I’ve taken on leaving: it’s gonna be just like a short tour overseas, except a bit more dangerous. And no grass anywhere. I will try to keep in touch with everyone as much as possible.
Good message at church last night, too. I have too many thoughts on it to post here now, but I will share them later.
I have a very busy month coming up. I am going to Missouri on Monday, October 10, and should arrive at my parents’ house near Springfield the next night. I plan on spending a week down there, because I just want to spend some good time with my mom and Jason before I ship off to the sandbox. Also I want to see what Springfield is like, because if I really, really, really have to next year, I may end up moving down there. The chance of me doing that, though, is 0.00000000000001%.
Also coming up this month is the Audio Adrenaline concert at the Norfolk Scope. I love those guys. We also have some good stuff going on at church, too, and not to mention I have a long, long checklist of outprocessing things to do.
That’s about it for now, more later.
