BANG.
That was brought to you by the thunder outside my room. We’ve got a nice little lightning storm going on right now and it was loud for a few minutes.
Anyhoo, short recap of the day. Went to Hooters in Williamsburg with Jon Masters for their military Monday promotion. We waited outside for about 15 minutes for some tables in Melissa’s section to clear, and all the while there was this dude out there by himself–he looked to be about late 30s, bald, obnoxious, and was a semi-rotund individual. He chatted up a storm on his cell phone and it was LOUD.
We got invited in by Melissa and all of a sudden he jumps up and the hostess was like, “uh, that’s for them, not you.” Then as soon as we sit down Melissa tells us that the same guy we were sitting by outside is a frequent visitor, and has been almost borderline harassing her and she can’t stand it anymore. So I decided to take a look for myself and see what the guy was up to.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Melissa is a beautiful girl. But that by no means warrants a rotund individual staring you down like a hawk no matter where you go. The more I watched this guy, the madder I got, for several reasons. I still feel like if I see that guy I am gonna go have a good word for him, and I wouldn’t mind breaking my left hand all over again. So we devised a plan of action…actually Melissa did, she called me from the breakroom and told me she was gonna go talk to the guy for three minutes and then for me to yell for her across the way as if to come help us. The plan worked to perfection…Jon sat there cheering because the dude left once I called for her.
Then the funny incident of the night…I walked into the bathroom to relieve myself of root beer, and no sooner did I step in the stall than this dude comes banging on the door asking if I was gonna be long. I said no, and he said (and you could tell he was drunk, you could smell it from that far away) “Good, because I just s*** myself.” Wonderful. I replied, “It happens to the best of us.” I got out of there as soon as I could, and Jon went in after me, came right back out and said the guy was talking to himself (none of what he said is repeatable on my blog). Then we saw the dude stumble outside, smacking one of his buddies on the rear end as they walked down the sidewalk. Sick stuff…
We left around 10 and saw massive lightning strikes outside. I jumped on top of the roof of my car just to watch it. It was incredible. I love storms. I don’t see how they could scare anyone….I want to chase tornados and live through a hurricane. That would be a riot.
Anyhow, I would give you a work update but it sucks sufficiently enough to warrant not even being mentioned. I’m tired of it, but I know things will get better soon. That’s all I am gonna say.
My new cell phone is being sent soon. I am so flipping tired of Verizon overcharging me for services I don’t use that I decided to pay $15 a month under my parents’ Family Shared Plan on Cingular. My last Cingular cell my dad had sent me (I ordered it, it’s my fault) was a crappy Siemens CT66. Don’t ever get that phone if the thought crosses your mind. It’s the worst phone ever. Not only did it not get reception in most buildings, but in my car it created radio interference and caused the speakers to buzz. That is a load of crap, so I went with the always-reliable Nokia 3120 and got my money back. I should have the phone soon, and if you want the phone number, it’s 417-XXX-XXXX.
Tomorrow is a long day. Gotta be in place at 7:30 for media training. I’m outta here…might have basketball night. I’ll keep you posted.
